Questions About Our Plans
What does 'age-banded' mean?+
Your monthly premium is calculated based on how old you are when you apply. Younger members pay less because their statistical risk is lower. The band is fixed at application — you don't move to a more expensive band on your birthday while the policy is active.
Can I add family members to my plan?+
Yes. Choose the 'Two Parents + Children' or 'Single Parent + Children' plan types when you apply and up to 4 children (to age 21) are automatically included. For extended family and traditional plans covering up to 14 lives, contact us directly for a custom quote.
What is the waiting period?+
There is a 6-month waiting period for natural death from the start date of your policy. There is no waiting period for accidental death — cover is immediate. This applies across all cover levels.
When do I receive the immediate cash relief?+
The R1,000 immediate cash relief (available from R18,000 cover) is transferred to your account within 24–48 hours of notification and verification. You call us, we confirm the policy and ID, and the money moves. No paperwork delays.
What is The Royal Journey?+
The Royal Journey is our signature mourner transport benefit — a dedicated bus or kombi that takes your guests from the home or church to the graveyard and brings them back safely. It is included in your cover from R15,000 upward, at no extra cost.
Are tombstones included?+
No. Tombstones are not included in any cover level. Permanent tombstones are a separate product with their own plan and monthly premium — ask us about our tombstone plan if you would like to add this.
Can I apply if I am over 75?+
New applications are accepted up to age 75. Members who joined before age 75 continue in higher age bands as they age. Cover ceilings apply: 75–84 members are limited to R12,500 cover; 85+ members to R10,000 cover.
